Beaver Brook Association
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
People volunteer for different reasons. One reason may be that we like to 'give back' to the community we live in. Another reason may be that we 'believe' in a particular organization, what it offers - what it achieves. If either of these reasons apply to you and your feelings towards Beaver Brook (and you have the time), then take a moment to think about volunteering some of your time at Beaver Brook this year. Listed below are areas where we could use your help:
Weed and maintain the corn, beans, pumpkins, and medicine plants in the Native American Garden.
Build a wattle twig fence for the Native American garden to discourage deer. Cut and weave saplings around 3 Sisters Garden.
Assist BBA Office Manager IIga with mailings. Help send out:
Invitations, The Log, Educational brochures, ect.
Create display boards for BBA Education programs to go into schools. Subject include:
Beavers, Medicinal plants, and Animal skulls.
Help Lorna with our nature library. Place BBA labels in donated books and thin out old books.
Help Maple Hill Gardeners with the gardens.
Any day M - F, 9:00 - 12:00, or with prior
arrangement with Liz Brown, staff horticulturalist
Help prepare Kids crafts, Gardeners barn, sell refreshments, or oversee an activity at the 27th annual Fall Festival.
Help BBA Natural Resource Manager and Trail Maintainer clean and trim trails.
Become a member of our Special Events Committee helping to plan and implement three of Beaver Brooks most exciting events: Maple Fest, Summer Solstice and Fall Festival.
If you love the sound of all of these things and would like to volunteer, call Cheri Schmidt, Volunteer Coordinator at 465-7787 or email her at cdschmidt@beaverbrook.org.
