Come to Beaver Brook in Hollis to enjoy some outdoor fun. Rent snowshoes at the office for $10 /day ($8 Friends of BBA), grab a map and get outside for some fresh air. We have snowshoes for students and adults. The winter woods are more active with life than you think!

In an effort to encourage people to get outside, Beaver Brook offers Free Guided hikes on the First Sunday of the Month. Check our calendar for locations. Free.
Wear warm clothing in layers, warm socks and boots. Snowshoes, crampons and hiking poles may be useful for this off-trail hiking. Bring water and an energy snack. Meet at Rocky Pond Road parking area 1.7 miles north of the intersection with Route 130 in Hollis NH. $10.

Enjoy an easy hike to collect holiday evergreens and berries. We will harvest a bag of hemlock, laurel, and white pine then return to the warmth of Brown Lane Barn for tea and muffins and holiday music with instruction on making a glorious holiday wreath. Everyone leaves with a work of art.

Visit the new Sassafras Trail at Maple Hill Farm. This trail is designed for preschoolers to experience really “being in the woods” without having to walk miles. The Sassafras Trail features sassafras trees, dogwood, sarsaparilla, wild grapes, wild raspberries and more. There are pumpkins to guide you along the way. We have seen deer, fisher, grouse and fox tracks nearby. See what you can find!

Join us on a weekly or twice weekly fitness hike or snowshoe in the area. Mondays are moderately paced hikes (2-2.5 mph) and Fridays are moderately fast-paced hikes of ~2.5-3 mph. We explore the 35 miles of Beaver Brook trails through the seasons as well as other lovely trails of our region such as the Andres Institute Sculpture Park, historic Monson, Hollis Town Forest, Milford Tucker Brook and Hitchener Town Forests, Joe English Preservation and more. You will meet new people who love to be in the outdoors, get good exercise, and boost your endorphins and immune system as well as combat seasonal affective disorder!
