FOLLOW THE PUMPKINS

Visit the new Sassafras Trail at Maple Hill Farm.  This trail is designed for preschoolers to experience really “being  in the woods” without having to walk miles.  The Sassafras Trail features sassafras trees, dogwood, sarsaparilla, wild grapes, wild raspberries and more.  There are pumpkins to guide you along the way.  We have seen deer, fisher, grouse and fox tracks nearby.  See what you can find!

Take a Green Hour at Beaver Brook

NWF recommends that parents give their kids a “Green Hour” every day. This can take place in a garden, a backyard, the park down the street, or any place that provides safe and accessible green spaces where children can learn and play. Scientific research shows kids are happier and healthier when outdoor time is in better balance with indoor time.
