Dear Educators,
Would your students enjoy tasting maple sap right out of a tree? …stare eye to eye with a pickerel frog they caught? …hike and compare attributes of New England habitats? …listen to an Abenaki story in a wigwam? Beaver Brook Association has a staff of experienced educators to welcome and explore with you and your students. Outdoors, engaging, and hands-on, Beaver Brook programs are the finest in the area. Our school programs run year round and are customized to meet your educational standards. Programs can be combined with each other to create an all-inclusive field trip specifically tailored to your group’s needs!
- We can offer programs at your school, schoolyard or library
- Programs run rain or shine with occasional exceptions for safety.
- Beaver Brook is dedicated to making programs accessible and we will do our best to accommodate all students. If you let us know in advance we will ensure we have appropriate activities and staff available for any program.

5Rs of Sustainability
What are the 5 Rs?
For a long time we have been taught about the 3 Rs, Reduce, Reuse Recycle – but now there’s two more: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse or Repurpose, Rot (compost) Recycle, in that order.
The order of the Rs is also important. The closer to the beginning of the list, the better the option. Let’s take it from the top! Using role playing, sewing, a lesson with worms and compost, students will learn how to reduce their waste and their carbon footprint. It doesn’t seem overwhelming when we take small steps to change.
