Matt Cohen is a New Hampshire native whose passion for photography began at an early age and has only grown stronger with time. For Matt, photography is more than just taking pictures – it’s about observing the world closely and capturing emotion in the everyday. He finds great joy in sharing these moments and seeing others connect with the stories behind his images.

From his home in Moultonborough, Matt often starts his days paddling his kayak on Lake Winnipesaukee, where many of his favorite wildlife shots are taken. While his primary focus is nature and wildlife, he has also photographed sports and events over the years, always looking for compelling moments worth preserving.

Matt has called southern New Hampshire home for most of his life, but his photography adventures have taken him across the U.S., exploring national parks in nearly every state. Still, some of his most meaningful images come from closer to home — along the quiet coves of the Lakes Region or the windswept shores of the New England Seacoast, where light and life shift with the seasons.

His photography has won awards and recognition in shows throughout the region and is featured and sold at ArtWorks Gallery in Tamworth, the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center in Holderness, and Adventure Suites in North Conway. He has been a regular exhibitor at the Beaver Brook Association’s Annual Fall Festival & Art Show in Hollis, where he’s earned both “Best to Theme” and “People’s Choice” honors. Matt also shares his knowledge through workshops and is active in conservation efforts, volunteering with NH Audubon and the Loon populations.
